The spiritual master was giving his monthly Satsang. Again for those of you who live in ‘Rio Linda’ a Satsang by definition means being in the presence of the wise, gurus, saints, sages, or Self-realized adepts and listening to their valuable instructions, spiritual discourses, questions and answers. The master conducted a short meditation and then was given some written questions from his audience.
The great sages have also spoken in opposition to the use of intoxicants. Inebriation used as a vehicle to escape the demands of life produces destructive enslavement. Instead of having your "cup runneth over" in drunkenness, there is a much more effective intoxicant (very few know of) that has the same effects on the brain's electromagnetic field and produces long term euphoria without drunkenness; this ecstatic elixir is called, meditation. This planet is a habitat of suffering and trouble. Many human births have been wasted away in preoccupation with the gratification of wine, sex and gold.
The master then proceeded to read the next question which was from another visitor. I think I’m in love with a beautiful woman who doesn’t even know I exist and I think about her all the time and can’t help myself. What should I do? The master said, “Beware the whip of a beautiful face.” Do you want to be like the dog harnessed to a cart with a sausage dangling out in front on a pole, pulling progressively more and more a tormenting life as a slave to his desires, forever thinking, "when I get her I will be happy." What if that day never comes? Be happy now, this moment! Why spend the little time you have on this earth planning and thinking how to have a beautiful woman. Those who are mostly attracted by a good-looking faces and appearances will find their soul-mates in the graveyard of gorgeous and wonderfully decked-out forms, unaware that a demon or devil may be dwelling within. Souls of ignorance that inhabit gorgeous bodies are tombs of flesh that cover up hideous skeletons.
With detachment the sage views all external good looks or beauty whether a jewel, a flower or the face of a beautiful woman; he no longer has the cravings for possessions. The sense slave yearns for control and as precious riches and beautiful women are plentiful in this world, so are his desires for them. In his frustration from non-possession he becomes bitter or angry. However in permitting the mind to harmlessly dwell on that attraction or nourishing it in any way is to ask for the resulting consequences. Even subtly the path it takes will result in identical spiritual destruction. No master or sage would seek happiness from just a good-looking face. Earthly people toil for material acquisitions that are perishable and for goals that are unrealistic and unfulfilling; those who are devotees or students of the divine do not stupidly imitate them.
Pleasures of the senses spring from outward contacts and are begetters of misery; they are in essence ephemeral because they have a beginning and end. The valiant can enjoy all the good things without attachment. Every incarnate soul must travel through the pathway of life within the territory of sensations and sense traps to break the chains of forced reincarnations to finally reach its ultimate goal. The spiritual man of self-control armed with the armor of wisdom travels through this pathway with detachment performing his duty in the tricky world of the senses.
The next question from a student, “Master, why did God give me such an ugly face?” The master replied, “Do you think for one minute that your physical looks and body was designed by God alone? No my friend, you have contributed much work on it. With wrong thoughts and actions you will see faces that reflect much cruelty and bad actions. You see your appearance reflects like a mirror of your past actions. You have judged yourself, not God so you will reap what you have sown now and in the future. Be careful because you are your own judge and you will punish yourself through evil or good actions. To free yourself think before you act.”
The next question was definitely from a visitor. Sir, did we descend from the ape? What was first the chicken or the egg? The master chuckled and said “While egg is arguing with chicken bout evolution, let me explain to you how evolution is: evolution is only a suggestion from God. The soul does not evolve through evolution, it is gradually reawakened through a process and finally into a specially created body by God.”
God created the first human beings by special creation not by parents through the law of cause and effect. God took the spermatozoon and ovum and put them together and out of a flash of light came the first human being as explained by those who have cosmic consciousness. Explanations made by present day neuroscientists and biologists are far yet from the truth on the creation of human beings. No, we absolutely did not descend from the ape. The first humans Adam and Eve were enabled to procreate children by materializing the life force through the immaculate method. What went wrong is man allowed the mind to run down to the sex plane instead of keeping his thoughts on the higher centers of the brain, the area of pure thought at the point between the eyebrows (spiritual eye) so he fell from grace and was unable to achieve immaculate creation through will power therefore was compelled to propagate the species physically. If parents had not been created first, children could not have been brought into this world; God created the first parents.
The next question came from another visitor. Sir, I was promoted in my last job and soon after I was let go. I was so fed up working for someone else I decided to go into business for myself but I lost everything in this economy. Do I just have bad karma? The answer to the first part of your question is: worldly people never consider who their real employer is, God. It is He who has employed you under someone else. It is He who promotes you to carry out His work. Therefore, by performing your job duties with the right attitude to please your real employer no matter how important or unimportant your job is you will never fail no matter what direction you choose.
To answer the last part of your question remember that all commercial businesses should be spiritualized. If your business does not conform to divine laws it will never last. If your business caters just too human lavishness, and the mighty dollar, unethical or false pretenses, it will certainly be ruined by the execution of the spiritual law of the survival of the virtuous. Any business that hurts the true spiritual well-being of the individual does no real good, and is certain to meet with devastation by the very same nature of its actions. Money-making alone should not be the goal of business. Service should be the true spiritual goal of business. By spiritualizing service in your work rather than having moneymaking your entire goal, you will change the plan for your life and never will you be left out. Profiteering should not be synonymous with business. Eradicate this idea completely from your mind. Businesses blunder into periodic inflation and depressions by operating at the expense of others well-being with their own self-interest. This metaphysical blunder will cause selfish enterprises to fail.
